It's been a while since I updated this blog. I've been getting used to my new boat, and trying to figure out how to sail it.
A couple days ago, i made the voyage across the gulf stream to the Bahamas. We left from West Palm Beach, Florida and headed over to West End, on our way to the Abacos, which were destroyed by the hurricane a while back and still haven't fully recovered. As a result, a lot of cruisers are skipping the Abacos all together and heading to the Exumas and further south.
Our hope is that we can find a couple places with good cell phone reception, and enjoy our trip through the green-blue waters without hitting any big gray rocks.
I pictured myself having plenty of extra time to write blog posts, write a book, write some code, learn Chinese, and otherwise dabble in Zen and the Art of Sailboat Maintenance but so far it's just been a mad rush to put out a series of literal and figurative fires.
But, when life gives you lemons you make lemonade, and when life gives you fires you throw a salb of meat on top and call it a BBQ.You must be Logged in to comment (it's easy)
